 The Houston Allergy & Asthma Associates (HAAA) website is used as a means to communicate information about our practice and to provide general information about the diagnosis and treatment of allergy, asthma and sinus disease. All articles and any forms, checklists, guidelines and materials are for generalized information only, and should not be used or referred to as primary legal sources nor considered as establishing standards of care. They are intended as resources to be selectively used and always adapted with the advice of the organizations' attorney to meet state, local, individual organizations' and department needs or requirements. It is distributed with the understanding that neither Texas Medical Liability Trust's Risk Management Department nor Texas Medical Liability Trust is engaged in rendering legal services.

Privacy Statement

As a general rule, HAAA protects patient health information as set out in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 which requires health care professionals to protect privacy and create standards for electronic transfers of health data.  HAAA is committed to protecting the privacy of our patients’ health care information.  Periodic reviews of our policies and procedures have been established so as to keep abreast of the latest governmental regulations and technology improvements in order to meet HIPAA requirements.

Website Tracking

The HAAA website is monitored so as to better manage how the site is being used and to keep the response optimal. In doing so, the following items are logged when you visit the HAAA website site:

·        Date and time of the visit

·        The length of the visit in terms of minutes

·        The pages visited and the Internet browser type

No cookies are downloaded onto your computer that keeps track of your PC and website usage.  Should you notice a cookie downloaded to your computer from the HAAA website please notify us immediately at 281-875-8428.

Please note that emails transmitted between you and HAAA are not encrypted.  As a result, such email correspondence can be viewed by other users on the Internet without your knowledge or your permission.  Because of this, if you need to discuss confidential and sensitive matters regarding your health treatment or billing questions, we recommend you call the clinic directly.
